Application Fee

• For General / OBC candidates: ₹500/-

  • ₹400/- will be refunded after deducting bank charges if the candidate is found eligible and actually appears for the trial.

• For SC / ST / Ex-Servicemen / PwBD / Women / Minorities / EBC candidates: ₹250/-

  • Full refund (after deducting bank charges) if found eligible and appears for the trial.

• Note: Ineligible candidates will not get any refund.

Mode of Payment

Fee can be paid online only via: Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, UPI

• Transaction charges will be borne by the candidate.

• Once payment is successful, an e-receipt will be generated — save/print it for records.

• Applications without payment will be rejected.

Fee Exemptions

• Minorities:

  • Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Zoroastrians (Parsis), and Jains.

  • Must upload self-declaration during online application.

  • Must submit affidavit on non-judicial stamp paper during document verification.

• Economically Backward Classes (EBC):

  • Family income less than ₹50,000 per annum.

  • Must upload Income Certificate (Annexure-B), BPL Card, or Izzat MST during online application.

Group ‘D’

Level 3 / Level 2: 12th (+2 stage) or its equivalent from a recognized institution OR Matriculation plus ITI approved by NCVT/SCVT OR Matriculation plus Diploma from a recognized institution OR Matriculation plus Course Completed Act Apprenticeship.

Level 1: 10th Pass or ITI or Diploma or Equivalent OR National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) issued by NCVT from a recognized institution.

Note:

• Clerk-cum-Typist category requires a typing speed of 30 w.p.m. in English or 25 w.p.m. in Hindi within 4 years of appointment.

• Higher qualification certificates must be produced at the time of trials.

• Candidates awaiting results are not eligible.

Western Railway Sports Quota Recruitment 2025: Sports Achievements Criteria

Eligibility Period for Achievements

• Sports achievements must be between 01/04/2023 and the date of notification.

• Candidate must be currently active in the sport.

• The concluding day of the championship/event will be considered for eligibility.

• If applicable, the specific position played must be clearly mentioned in the online application.

Minimum Sports Norms Required

Additional Eligibility Norms for Specific Sports

• Bodybuilding: Achievements from Indian Body Builders Federation after 31/12/2021 not considered. Certificates from AIU or International Federations acceptable.

• Table Tennis/Badminton: Recruitment can be based on current annual All India Rankings. Example: For Level 3/2 – Singles up to 20th rank (Seniors) or up to 6th rank (Youth/Juniors). For Level 1 – Singles up to 30th rank (Seniors).

• Cricket: Specific requirements for GP 2800/2400 and GP 2000/1900 including participation in India-A, U-19 team, or certain national tournaments.

• Kabaddi: Weight limit – Men below 85 kg, Women below 75 kg (at trial).

• Volleyball, Powerlifting, Handball, Hockey, Weightlifting: Achievements must be from recognized federations/events within specified timeframes.

• Hockey: Only Hockey India recognized.

• Weightlifting: From 01/06/2025, new bodyweight categories apply.

Important Notes

1. Championships must be conducted under recognized International/National Sports Federations and approved by Railway Sports Promotion Board (RSPB).

2. If 5 posts in Level 5/4 remain vacant, they may be downgraded to Level 3/2.

3. Candidates with higher sports norms applying for lower grade pay can be considered, but must submit an undertaking not to claim higher grade pay later.

4. Recruitment is only for advertised disciplines and positions.

5. Final selection will be subject to fitting into the WRSA Team.

Recognized Junior National Championships

Western Railway will accept only championships from the official list in disciplines like Athletics, Basketball, Bodybuilding, Cricket, Cycling, Gymnastics, Football, Hockey, Handball, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Powerlifting, Volleyball, Swimming, Table Tennis, Wrestling, Water Polo, and Weightlifting.

• Only Senior National & Junior National Championships will be counted (Rural/Festival meets not accepted).

• Achievements must be from 01/04/2023 onwards.

Western Railway Sports Quota Recruitment 2025: How to Apply

• Visit the Official Website – Go to www.rrc-wr.com.

• Register Online – Fill in your personal details, bio-data, and valid Aadhaar Number (12-digit) or Aadhaar Enrolment ID (28-digit) if Aadhaar Card not yet issued.

• Ensure Correct Details – Your Name, Father’s Name, and Date of Birth must exactly match your Educational & Sports Certificates.

  • In case of name change, submit Gazette Notification or Legal Document (must be dated before application submission).

• Fill in Active Contact Details – Provide a valid Mobile Number and Email ID to receive all communication via SMS/Email.

• Separate Applications for Multiple Posts/Levels –

  • Apply separately for each discipline.

  • Apply separately for each pay level (with separate fees).

• Avoid Multiple Applications with Different Details – Any mismatched details like different names, photos, qualifications, or email/mobile will lead to rejection.

• Get Your Registration Number – After submission, a registration number will be generated. Save it for future reference.

• Avoid Last-Minute Rush – Apply well before the closing date to avoid heavy traffic on the website.

• No Need to Send Hard Copy – The application will be considered only on the basis of the online form; verification will be done later.

• Print Your Application – Keep a copy of your application printout to produce at the time of the Selection Trial.
