RRC Central Railway Apprentice Recruitment 2025 – Selection Process

  • Apply & get your Reg. No.
Submit the online form on the RRC/CR portal. Once you finish, a Registration Number is generated—save it for all future stages.

  • Eligibility mark check
You must have at least 50% aggregate in Class 10 (SSC/matric). Applications from those already trained/under training for the same trade aren’t considered.

  • How your merit score is computed

    • Matric %: Calculated from all subjects together (no “best-of-five”).

    • ITI % (relevant trade): Use the average of all semesters shown on the consolidated marksheet or the percentage on the Provisional National Trade Certificate (NCVT/SCVT).

    • Final merit score = (Matric % + ITI %) / 2 (simple average).

  • Special case: boards with grades (e.g., AP, Kerala, etc.)
For each subject, the mid-point of the grade range is taken as marks. Then an overall average is computed, treating every subject as out of 100.

  • Tie-breaking rules

    • If two candidates have the same merit score, the older candidate ranks higher.

    • If date of birth is also identical, the one who passed Class 10 earlier gets preference.

  • Merit list formation
RRC/CR prepares separate merit lists (cluster/unit-wise, trade-wise, community-wise) in descending order of the computed score, equal to the number of slots.

  • Document & medical verification
    Shortlisted candidates must:

    • Present original documents that match the uploads, and

    • Produce a medical certificate in the prescribed format (as per annexure).

  • Important cautions

    • Apply early. Heavy traffic near the deadline can cause login/submission issues.

    • RRC/CR is not responsible if you fail to submit due to internet congestion or similar last-day problems.
