Nationality

A candidate must be:

1. A citizen of India, OR

2. A subject of Nepal, OR

3. A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, and East African countries (Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam) with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Note: Candidates from category (2) and (3) must have a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India, except Gorkha subjects of Nepal who do not require it.

Educational Qualification

• Minimum 55% aggregate marks in LLB Degree (either a 3-year professional course after graduation or a 5-year course after 10+2).

• Must have obtained the degree from a college/university recognized by the Bar Council of India.

• CLAT PG 2025 score is mandatory for all candidates (including LLM qualified and LLM appearing).

• Must be eligible for registration as an advocate with the Bar Council of India/State.

Note 1: Only candidates possessing LLB degree and marksheet are eligible, provided they meet the above criteria.

Note 2: CLAT PG 2025 result must be verified at the Selection Centre before the SSB interview. Without verification, the candidature will be cancelled. There is no offline application process

Indian Army JAG Entry Scheme 2025: Selection Procedure

The Indian Army JAG Entry Scheme 2025 follows a multi-stage selection process to ensure only the most suitable candidates are chosen for the prestigious role of Judge Advocate General.

1. Shortlisting of Applications

• Applications will be shortlisted by the Integrated HQ of MoD (Army) based on the vacancy-to-call-up ratio.

• The CLAT PG 2025 score will play a key role in shortlisting.

• Shortlisted candidates will be allotted a Selection Centre via email.

2. Allotment of Selection Centre

• After centre allotment, candidates must log in to the official website and choose available SSB dates on a first-come, first-served basis.

• If not selected manually, dates will be assigned automatically by the Selection Centre.

3. SSB Interview

• Conducted at Prayagraj (UP), Bhopal (MP), Bengaluru (Karnataka), and Jalandhar (Punjab).

• Only shortlisted candidates will be called for Stage I & Stage II testing:

  • Stage I: Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) test and Picture Perception & Description Test (PP&DT).

  • Stage II: Psychological Tests, Group Testing Officer (GTO) tasks, Personal Interview, and Conference.

• Duration: 5 days.

• Stage I failures will be returned the same day.

• Recommended candidates will proceed for a Medical Examination.

4. Medical Examination

• Candidates must meet Indian Army’s prescribed medical standards.

• Medical Board proceedings are confidential and final.

5. Merit List

• Prepared based on SSB interview marks.

• Tiebreakers: Age (older gets higher rank) → Higher marks in LLB.

• Only medically fit candidates in merit within the vacancy limit will get joining letters for OTA Chennai.

6. Training & Joining

• Joining letters are issued as per merit, vacancies, and medical fitness.

• Candidates must report within 7 days of the reporting date, or the seat will be allotted to the next candidate.

Travel Allowance

• First-time SSB candidates for this type of commission get AC 3-Tier train fare or bus fare reimbursement (including sleeper charges) within India.

Note: Any false information, disciplinary withdrawals from service academies, or criminal history will lead to disqualification.

Indian Army JAG Entry Scheme 2025: How to Apply

Candidates can apply only through the official website of the Indian Army. No offline applications will be accepted. Follow these steps carefully:

Step-by-Step Application Process

1. Visit the Official Website – Go to www.joinindianarmy.nic.in.

2. Registration/Login –

   • New users: Click on ‘Officer Entry Appln/Login’ → ‘Registration’.

   • Already registered users: Log in using credentials.

3. Apply Online –

   • Click on ‘Apply Online’ under Dashboard.

   • In the “Eligibility” page, click ‘Apply’ next to Short Service Commission JAG Entry Course.

4. Fill the Application Form –

   • Enter Personal Details, Communication Details, Educational Details, and SSB details.

   • Click ‘Save & Continue’ after each section.

5. Review and Submit –

   • Check the ‘Summary of your information’ page carefully.

   • Make corrections if needed.

   • Click ‘Submit’ once all details are correct.

6. Print Application –

   • Take two copies of the final application with a Roll Number (available 30 minutes after final closure of the application).

   • One copy will be taken to the SSB; the other is for personal reference.

Important Notes

• No changes are allowed after the closing date of the application.

• CGPA/Grades must be converted to percentage as per the University’s formula.

• Name, parents’ name, and date of birth must match the Matriculation/Secondary School Certificate.

• Only one application per candidate is allowed; multiple submissions will result in cancellation.

Documents to Carry for SSB Interview (Self-attested copies + originals)

1. Printout of the online application (signed & with photo attached).

2. Matriculation/Secondary School Certificate & Marksheet (proof of DOB, name, parents’ names).

3. 12th Class Certificate & Marksheet.

4. Graduation Degree/Provisional Degree (for 3-year LLB after graduation).

5. LLB Degree/Provisional Degree (not older than 6 months at joining).

6. Marksheets for all semesters/years.

7. Registration with Bar Council of India/State OR Certificate of recognition from Bar Council.

8. University certificate for CGPA-to-percentage conversion formula.

9. CLAT PG 2025 Score Card.

Note:

• Candidates without required documents will have their candidature cancelled.

• Serving Armed Forces personnel must inform their Commanding Officer and carry the countersigned application to the SSB.
